New to online betting? Here are the key terms every player should know before placing their first wager.
RTP (Return to Player)
The theoretical percentage of total wagered money a slot or game pays back to players over time. A 96% RTP means the game returns ৳96 for every ৳100 wagered on average.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage the casino holds over players on any given game. European Roulette has a 2.7% house edge; American Roulette has 5.26%.
Wager / Stake
The amount of money placed on a single bet. Also called a stake. Your wager is the amount at risk before the outcome is determined.
Odds
A numerical expression of the likelihood of an outcome and the payout it offers. Decimal odds of 2.50 mean a ৳100 bet returns ৳250 (including stake) if it wins.
Parlay / Accumulator
A single bet combining multiple selections. All selections must win for the bet to pay out, but the potential return is multiplied across each leg — high risk, high reward.
Live Bet (In-Play)
A bet placed on an event after it has already started. Odds update in real time as the game or match progresses. Very popular for cricket and football.
Cash Out
A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event finishes, locking in a partial profit or cutting a potential loss depending on how the event is going.
Volatility (Variance)
Describes how frequently and how much a slot pays out. High volatility: rare but large wins. Low volatility: frequent but smaller wins. Choose based on your session bankroll size.
Free Spin
A bonus round on a slot machine where you spin the reels without spending your own money. Can be triggered by scatter symbols or awarded as a promotional bonus.
Wagering Requirement
The number of times you must bet a bonus amount before it can be withdrawn as real cash. A ৳1,000 bonus with a 30x wagering requirement means you must wager ৳30,000 total.
Bankroll
The total amount of money you have set aside specifically for gambling. Managing your bankroll responsibly is the foundation of sustainable play.
Spread Betting
A form of betting where you wager on whether the outcome will be above or below a spread set by the bookmaker. Common in cricket run-line and football goal markets.
